Nepal is a small landlocked country bordered by India and China (also it's main trading partners) and is home to some of the world's tallest mountains, including the famous Mt. Everest. The capital city is Kathmandu.

Nepal is currently on the list of Least Developed Nations, as determined by the United Nations and was hit by a devastating 7.8 earthquake on April 25th, 2015. The damage is estimated at more than $10 billion dollars.

This country's main source of income is agriculture, (a sector largely unaffected by the disaster) and tourism, one which is all but going to disappear for the foreseeable future. It also destroyed the main highways used for trading between India and China. Due to the uncertain political atmosphere, the borders are rejecting some foreign aid from other countries.

Therefore, the main point of this project is to try and find solutions for Nepal's economic situation which are going to be culturally appropriate, sustainable and will empower the people.
